Visa payWave is a secure, contactless technology that will help you spend less time at the register and give you the freedom to do the things that matter most to you.
It’s easy and convenient
For transactions under $100, just wave your Visa payWave enabled card in front of a contactless reader and go – there’s no need for a signature or pin.
If your transaction is over $100 you can still use Visa payWave, you’ll simply be asked to verify the transaction with your PIN. (Daily limit $1,000).
Visa payWave is designed to offer cardholders speed and convenience whilst providing all the same layers of security as any other Visa chip card, including Visa’s Zero Liability Policy *.
Where can I use Visa PayWave?
Visa payWave is accepted at Australia’s leading retailers, including any merchant displaying the Visa payWave symbol on their terminal reader.
*Visa’s Zero Liability policy covers Australian and New Zealand-issued cards and does not apply to ATM transactions, transactions not processed by Visa or certain commercial card transactions. Cardholders should notify their issuer promptly of any unauthorised Visa use. Please consult your issuer for additional details. Additional visa charges may apply. Please contact your financial institution for further details.

What is Visa Secure?
Visa Secure provides added security to ensure that only you can use your Visa card to make purchases online.
You’re already protected.
All Visa cards are automatically registered for this free service. Visa Secure is being offered by a growing number of online merchants throughout the world – currently more then 200,000 stores worldwide. Look for the Visa Secure symbol as a sign that these merchants value both your business and your privacy.
How does it work?
Each time you make an online purchase with a participating merchant, the Visa Secure program assesses the risk level of the transaction. Certain activity may seem out of the ordinary – maybe because it’s a high dollar value transaction, or a retailer you’ve never bought with before. In these instances you may be asked to confirm some simple personal details so we can be sure the card isn’t being used without your permission.
How do I use Visa Secure when I shop online?
You’ll find all the details on how to use Visa Secure when shopping online at the Visa Secure online shopping demo. To view this, you must have Adobe Flash Player installed.
Do I need any special equipment or software on my computer?
You can use Visa Secure on any computer that has an internet connection and browser such as Internet Explorer. Most web browsers are compatible with Visa Secure.
Why would I be asked to confirm personal details and is this safe?
Each time you make an online purchase, Visa Secure assesses the risk level of the transaction – certain activity may seem out of the ordinary, maybe because it’s a high dollar value, or a retailer you’ve never bought with before.
If there is any concern a transaction may be fraudulent, it will prompt you to confirm your identity, and you will be requested to enter some personal details unique to your account with The Capricornian Ltd If the transaction is considered high risk, you may be required to confirm several details before the transaction is approved.
